SUMMARY:Turkey Point Light Station
DESCRIPTION:Their season\, this year\, began May 1st and run through the end of October. The Lighthouse is open to climbers on weekends from 10 AM to 2 PM (weather permitting). The gift shop is open from 10 AM to 2 PM. There is no charge to view the Chesapeake Bay from our lantern room. The staircase in the lighthouse is open to climbers who can reach the metal handrail. Donations are gratefully accepted. \nThe Turkey Point Mission Statement is….. \n\n\n\nTo work with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and the Elk Neck State Park staff to maintain the Turkey Point Lighthouse and oil house. \n\n\n\n\nIncrease public awareness and educate current and future generations concerning the history of Turkey Point Light Station and the keepers of the light. \n\n\n\n\nRaise funds to rebuild the Keeper’s House and the bell tower and operate them as a part of a living museum. \n\n\n\nProtect the historic integrity of the Light Station while protecting the environment.

DESCRIPTION:It’s the dog days of summer in the scenic town of North East\, MD. Join us on Main Street on Friday\, August 8\, 2025 from 5-8pm for a 2nd Friday celebration throughout town. Our theme is month is – you guessed it – “Dog Days of Summer” so be sure to bring your faithful fur friends out on the town! There will be water bowls out in front of storefront and there will be a best dressed dog contest! \nThis is a Rain or Shine event. It will be a fantastic evening of food\, drinks\, music and fun!
